Bhutan Tuff uses nano-engineered particles which increase the plywood’s resistance to fire. It takes more than 50 minutes for the fire to penetrate even the surface of the plywood. In the recent past, multiple accidents have happened due to fire outbreaks. Fire-resistant plywood is the need of the day owing to such incidents. An electrical short circuit or a spark can cause a major fire hazard, fireproof plywood is the best option to prevent such disasters.
Normal plywood acts as a medium to spread fire and gets destroyed once ignited. Hence, it is not suitable for application in areas prone to fire accidents. Fire-retardant plywood is created with chemicals specified under IS 509 which makes it effective in preventing the rapid spread of fire.
